Anonymous asked: vanaly, im just wondering if you could help me. ive never really been acne prone until this year. in past years i would get occasional pimples, but i currently have acne on the area just right under my cheek bones. theyre not big, but theyre numerous. what does that mean? and what would be your recommendations for treating it? itz naht kayoote

What does it mean? Hm. It can be caused by common acne like rosacea, acne vulgaris, or both. If you’re over 25 or haven’t had acne as a teenager, it’s most likely rosacea. Since I can’t see what your acne looks like, i’m just assuming it’s rosacea. It is broken blood vessels beneath the skin. When they burst, they cause dots of red color that can be seen through the skin and can turn into scar tissue which are those bumps that form. Some people break out with rosacea when they eat foods that contain natural serotonin. Tomatoes, Pineapple, Kiwi, Plums, etc. You can try not eating foods with Serotonin to see if this is whats causing your acne. If this isn’t it, Steroid treatments, Iron pills, Nose sprays, can also trigger Rosacea.

Treatment: Azelaic acid can treat the common acne but you have to use the exact amount. If you’re a woman, use it on your cheeks and nose only! This acid is also known for stimulating growth of hair on the neck and chin. (hehehe) Other than that, this acid reduces inflammation, redness, stops acne bacteria, and reduce brown spots from forming.

I recommend you use mild cleansers, wash your face only twice a day with lukewarm water, because hot water can irritate Rosacea. Use hypo-allergenic calming moisturizers. Use SPF daily to protect it from getting worse. Avoid alcohol, spicy food, caffeine, processed foods, and lots of sugar. Vitamin C and E will improve the condition of Rosacea as well. I can go on but.. yeah. Haha. This is so long.

I still think yous kayoote.
